We are back from a short trip to Disney World. Andi had the best time! We attended Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party the first night we were there. If you haven’t been before, you need to purchase a separate ticket for the event. (Yes, even if you are already a passholder). It is totally worth it. The party is from 7pm-midnight. Since we are already passholders, we spent the first half of the day around Magic Kingdom. Mid afternoon we made our way to the hotel for a little nap before the party. After our naps (we all needed one) Andi put her Snow White costume on and we went back to the park.
Side Note: We had originally planned to let her pick out a princess costume at the Magic Kingdom for her to wear, but I spotted these at Wal-Mart for only $15! It was really hard to pass up since I could get 4 for the price of one at the park. She loves them and wears a different one each day.
Since you need a special ticket to attend Mickey’s Halloween party, the park isn’t as packed as it usually is. Don’t get me wrong, there are still a ton of people there, but it isn’t as bad. Upon entering, each person is given a wrist band and a trick or treat bag to collect candy. They turn off the Fast Pass options so the lines move a little faster. We didn’t have to wait long at all for the rides we went on. There are trick or treat stations throughout the park, marked by life size candy corn colored inflatable signs. You can’t miss them! Andi got the hang of trick or treating in no time at all! Along with a ton of candy, there is a fun Halloween parade, fireworks show, and a ton of rare Disney characters throughout the park. Some are dressed in their own Halloween costumes!
Here is the outfit I wore on the way home. This loose and casual dress is perfect for travel. The fabric is super soft and comfortable. I love that it has pockets! The best part, it’s only $38!
Hello there! I hope you are having a good week so far! I decided to wear this purple (faux) leather skirt on Monday to spend the afternoon downtown. I got it for less than $30 during a 40% off promo. Check back next week to see how I style it for a completely different look!
It’s Monday again! Luckily this week is going a lot better than last go around. We had a pretty rough week last week. Andi has had a little could for the past two and a half weeks. We took her to the pediatrician twice because her cough wasn’t getting any better. The doctor said it was just a virus and it would have to run it’s course. It seemed like it was fading away but then out of nowhere, last Tuesday she was burning up. Andi was hot to the touch and didn’t want to eat or get out of bed. I took her back to the doctor and they said her hold had progressed into pneumonia! They gave her a shot of antibiotics and wanted to see her again the next day. After a long nap and watching Beauty and the Beast in bed, her fever broke and she felt like a new woman. She was excited to be able to go back to school today. She really missed her teachers and the kids in her class. We are so relieved that she is feeling better. I hate seeing her miserable.
I am sharing this outfit I wore last week. My bell sleeve sweater is on sale with a few sizes left. I have also linked the other colors that it comes in. These jeans have been on repeat since I purchased them several months ago. They are under $80 and super comfortable!
I have found the perfect off the shoulder dress for Fall! I shared this dress on my Instagram the other day and got a lot of questions about it. Believe it or not, it is from Lilly Pulitzer! I love their prints but they also have some great solid pieces. I like pairing my solid outfits with pops of color or printed accessories, like my favorite leopard clutch! Off the shoulder is still trending, making this a perfect piece for my wardrobe. It looks great with just a pair of gold sandals and would be easy to layer with tights, ankle booties and a scarf!
I bought my boots from Nordstrom last year but I have linked an almost identical pair below. Scroll down to check out all of my outfit details!
P.S. Head over to Lilly Pulitzer and check out their new mens and boys collection! I think it’s gonna go fast, so grab some pieces while they are still available!
Hello! Happy October to you! I was thrilled this morning when I went outside to find that the temperature had actually dropped a little. It is slowly starting to feel like a Florida Fall!!
I bought this hooded cardigan last week from the RP Everyday Shop. It is a shop with hand picked, affordable pieces that can be worn daily. Most items are sold out but there will be a restock soon, so keep checking back!
We are heading into my favorite time of year. Not only do I love the weather, the clothes and the pumpkin spice everything, this is also when all of our regular shows come back on tv. We got really into The Mick last year when it first came out and I am so glad it is back for a second season. I love Kaitlin Olson and think this is the perfect role for her. Another favorite for us is Fear The Walking Dead. If you don’t already know, it is a spin off from The Walking Dead, which also comes back on in a few weeks! We have watched both from the beginning and are pumped to see the new season for both. That wraps up the shows that we enjoy watching together besides reruns of Seinfeld and Everybody Loves Raymond. What I am most excited about and REALLY looking forward to, is the premier of Will & Grace tomorrow night! Eeek! This was my all time favorite show when it was first on in the late 90’s early 2000’s. I have the complete set and would watch different episodes every day for years. I think my favorite episode was” A Chorus Lie” with Matt Damon guest starring. Do you have a favorite? If you guys catch tomorrow night’s episode, let me know what you think!
I saw this look on another great blogger that I follow and I had to replicate it. Everyone knows I am a sucker for a good midi skirt. My cozy sweater is under $20, comes in 4 colors and is so cozy! I love it with the tulle skirt . A cozy sweater would also be great with a pair of leggings and boots. Did I mention that I LOVE Fall clothes?? 🙂
It is officially Fall!… even though it doesn’t seem like it in Florida. I hope that it cools off soon so that I can break out some of my boots and favorite fall layers.
I recently ordered this dress and it is still available! Grab one before it is gone. I love the pink and red combo. I think it would be great to wear into spring. I just love pieces that can be worn more than one season! Also, be sure to check out Rachel Parcell’s new Everyday Shop! It is a collection of affordable pieces that you can wear everyday!
Hello there! Happy Monday! Things are starting to settle down after Irma. So many people finally have electricity back! Andi is excited because she got to go back to school today. She hasn’t been in almost two weeks. She was really looking forward to it and couldn’t stop talking about her teachers before bed last night. I can’t wait to hear about her day when she gets home!
I almost didn’t order this top but I am so glad I did! It is a beautiful dusty rose color. I paired it with my Geo Lace skirt that I ordered several months ago. I just love the lace on lace look!
What a week! Everyone was on edge waiting to see where Hurricane Irma would hit. Thank goodness it wasn’t a category 4 or 5 like originally predicted. We were very fortunate and only lost power. It went out around 6:30 on Sunday evening and our amazing electric company, FPL, got it back up and running Wednesday afternoon. There are still so many people without power so please say an extra prayer for them before you go to sleep tonight. It is still pretty hot here in Florida!
We decided to head downtown Sunday morning to see what was going on. As you can see from the photos below, not a whole lot was happening. Main Street was like a ghost town. It was nice to see everyone take this storm seriously and watch the community come together to prep for hurricane Irma.
Irma was not a big rain maker like Harvey, but man was it windy! I think the boards over the windows served their purpose more than we know. When our power went out, we could really hear everything blowing around outside.
I hope everyone is ok and that we don’t have to go through another one of those for a very long time!
