I hope you are having a great New Year so far. I cannot believe this weather on the east coast! Luckily, we do not have freezing temperatures in Florida, but it has been cold enough to really start breaking out the layers.
I wore this stripe sweater with OTK boots a few weeks ago when the temperatures started to drop. I love the white braided ribbon on the back of my stripe sweater. Details like that make it actually fun to dress warm. My sweater, jeans and earrings are all great pieces from Scout & Molly’s Boutique in Sarasota! They have some fabulous cold weather items right now that will keep you warm while looking chic!
Happy New Year!! I have to say that I am a little.. ok, REALLY depressed that the Holidays are over. I love being able to listen to Christmas music on the radio while driving around or to come home after a long day and watch a light hearted Christmas movie. I am even going to miss the Christmas lights which are quickly fading away each night. 🙁 It is such a happy time of year and TBH, there is nothing on the tv or radio. Maybe it’s time to invest in Netflix because, no we do not have it!
For my New Year’s resolution, I have decided to make time for myself at least 3 nights before I go to bed. I tend to stay up late to work on posts, do laundry or lay on the couch on my laptop until I am so tired that all I have energy to do is brush my teeth and wash my makeup off. I have some amazing products that I rarely use because I just run out of time at night.
A few weeks ago, Aveda sent me this amazing PR package with their new Invati Advanced system. It is supposed to reduce hair loss by 53% and promote thicker fuller hair. After I had Andi, I lost more hair than I’d like to admit. It used to be extremely thick and full. It has really thinned out and I have a lot of breakage. I started this system on Wednesday night and although I obviously haven’t seen results this fast, I am obsessed with the product! The exfoliating shampoo made my scalp feel so clean! I also tried the conditioner and love the scent and cannot wait to use both again. After I got out of the shower I gave the Scalp Revitalizer a try and that also felt like magic on my scalp. It gave almost a tingly, minty sensation. I will try to do some before and after photos and give a full review once I have used the system for a while.
I hope you enjoyed the Holidays! I am sad that the holiday season is coming to an end. We are still listening to Christmas music! Andi’s favorite song is “Frosty the Snowman”. We sing it every night before bed.. multiple times!
Today I am wearing this open back sweater that I picked up from Scout & Molly’s Boutique in Sarasota. It is extremely soft! I love the oversized look and the open back is such a fun trend right now. I paired it with white jeans and booties, my go to winter look. How would you style it?
Is anyone else running around like a crazy person this week? I still have a lot of wrapping to do but I am just about done shopping (thank goodness). I took Andi to the mall the other day so she could pick out some gifts for her teachers and she informed me that she needed to see Santa again. Apparently, she had to tell him about thesetwo purses that she fell in love with the other day when we were out. Luckily for her, I think she gave him the message just in time. ;o)
I wore this outfit the other day from Scout & Molly’s Boutique, and got so many compliments on my Lilla P top. It has rose gold lurex stripes and button detailing down the back. It is lightweight, seasonless and extremely versatile. It can be worn with a high waisted skirt, a pair of shorts or how I am wearing it with jeans and pumps. Speaking of jeans, these AGOLDE released hem skinny jeans are AMAZING! I also picked these up at Scout & Molly’s. They are my favorite pair and have been on major repeat. I am practically living in them.
If you are not in the Sarasota area or just don’t have time to drop by, you can give Scout & Molly’s a call to order over the phone at 941-955-2170. They just got in some gorgeous new arrivals and they are moving FAST. They have a large selection of holiday and New Year’s dresses that are just stunning.
Is anyone else starting to panic that Christmas will be here in just 9 days!? I intend on getting everything done in the next couple of days but I will not be surprised if I am running around like a crazy person on Christmas eve.
I wore this look a few weeks ago and cannot get enough of these pants! They have an elastic waistband (score!) and the color is perfect for the holidays. They even come in black which I am considering ordering as well, but I knew I needed these red lace beauties as soon as I saw them.
We took Andi to Disney World last weekend and she had an amazing time (as usual). We started out at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Just like the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, there are only a certain number of tickets sold. At 6pm they start clearing out the people who did not purchase a special event ticket. FastPass is deactivated during the party but it makes the lines move much quicker. There are several cookie stations located throughout the park where you can enjoy complimentary cookies, chocolate, snow cones, prezels, eggnog, hot cocoa, apple juice and more! We hit up almost every station. As I have said before, Andi LOVES eggnog. She calls it “Christmas Milk”.
There are some great shows and parades throughout the night but our favorite is always the fireworks show. Tinkerbell even flew across the sky! And check out Cinderella’s Castle below! The lights are amazing! You do not need to purchase a MVMCP ticket just to see the castle lit up though. You can see it any night during this time of year.
We spend the remainder of our days between Epcot and Magic Kingdom. We went on some rides and met a few of her favorite princesses. Somehow we have never gone into Storybook Circus. That place is a goldmine! The Dumbo ride has a play area inside that Andi could have spent all day in. She also enjoyed the little water area in the center. Next time we will remember to bring her swimsuit. Her favorite part of Storybook Circus was Goofy’s Barnstormer rollercoaster. Yes… Rollercoaster. The height requirement is 35″. Lucky for Andi, she is 36″. They had me measure her almost every time we went one. She fell in love with the ride during a fireworks show, so there wasn’t a line at all to get on. We went about 6 or 7 times in a row and got to sit in front each time. I couldn’t believe how much she loved it. She wanted to go on some of the bigger coasters that we passed throughout the park but she will have to wait until she gets a little taller.
Our last night was spent at Epcot. There are so many beautiful decorations along with a special holiday firework/light show at the end of the night. Similar to the Food & Wine Festival, Epcot has International Festival of the Holidays. Each country has a station with a “Holiday Kitchen” with a select menu. It was perfect to get a taste of a few different things throughout the World Showcase. Check out the menus here.
We decided to do Chip & Dale’s Christmas Tree Spree. That was a lot of fun! To start, we purchased a map and sticker set from one of the gift shops ($6.99). Then we had to look in each county to see where Chip & Dale were hiding with an ornament. Here is a hint: They are in wreaths within the gift shops. Once we found them all and placed the stickers on the correct spot on the map, we could turn it in for a prize! Any guesses on what Andi got??
The weekend is here! Do you have plans to go to any holiday parties in the next few weeks? I have found a perfect dress for the occasion! This black lace dress is one of my favorite dresses of all time! The lace detailing is so special. I wore mine with red pumps but it would also look great with black pumps, dressy flats or even a pair of black ankle booties for a more edgy look. Red lipstick is one of my favorite things so I have been wearing all of my favorites. Here I am wearing Butter London Red Hot liner with Mac Red lipstick. I shared both on my Instagram a few weeks ago. I really like the liner because on one end it has a lipstick brush, which is perfect to use to apply darker lipsticks for a more precise application.
We are currently at Walt Disney World! Andi is having an amazing time, as usual. We went to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party on Sunday night which was pretty fun. I will be sharing photos from our entire trip later this week. For now, I am showing you this pink on pink outfit that I wore to Thanksgiving Dinner! These pants have an elastic waistband and were perfect for having a feast! They are extremely soft. I received so many compliments (and people wanting to feel them! 🙂 ) They also come in black and Vivid Ink. My turtleneck is almost sold out but here is a similar one that I really liked as well. Get my look and other full priced styles today for 25% off with code TUESDAY.
I am finally sharing Andi’s visit with Santa from last week. The Mall at University Town Center has an amazing set up this year. The theme is Santa’s Flight Academy, where kids can enjoy a personalized experience during their wait in line to sit on Santa’s lap. To begin, kids get to print their own badge with their name and photo on it. They will use it throughout the line for different things. Each time they insert their badge, their name will pop up on the screen.
Next, they get fitted for their elf suit. There is a station to measure hands, feet and height. Andi knew right away what to do because she insists on measuring herself every night before bed to, as she says, see if her head grew.
^^ This was cute because it makes your voice sound like a little elf. Andi loved it!
After getting “fitted”, kids stand in front of a visualizer, where they can see themselves on a screen wearing the elf suit. They are encouraged to dance and wave their arms. We should have taken a picture of Andi on the screen but it just didn’t happen. Onto the next part of the line… The snow!
Living in Florida doesn’t give us the option to have a White Christmas, so playing in faux snow was one of the biggest highlights of Santa’s Flight Academy. Andi loved picking it up and tossing it over her head.
^^ This is the last station the badge is inserted. The next stop is Santa! I love the anticipation Andi is showing in this photo. She was overfilled with excitement!
She did MUCH better this year than last year. She actually talked to him a little and she says he gave her a high five. I should have taken a video of her on our way back to the car because the little grin on her face and the way she was skipping in the parking lot was absolutely priceless.
Be sure to check out the Holidays on the Green through January 15th where you can enjoy ice skating, train rides, live music and movie nights!
We are really getting into the swing of Christmas! Andi got to meet Santa earlier this week. Check back tomorrow to see the full post on her experience! We drove around listening to Christmas music and looking at Christmas lights. Her favorite Christmas song right now is Brenda Lee’s I’m Gonna Lasso Santa Clause. She sings along and giggles. 🙂 We were happily surprised how many people have already decorated and it isn’t even December yet. She is really looking forward to going to Disney for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in a few days. She cannot stop talking about it!
Today I am wearing a classic trench coat that I picked up from Scout & Molly’s a couple of weeks ago. I love the color and how lightweight and flowy it is! (Perfect for Florida!) Scout & Molly’s has a wide variety of styles to choose from. I always find something perfect to add to my wardrobe whenever I go in. Be sure to follow them on Instagram to keep up with all of their must have new arrivals!
