Our Newest Family Photos

Happy Friday!

I can’t believe it’s almost 2017! Where does the time go? A few months ago we had our family photos taken by a high school classmate of mine, Synthia Therese Photography. She did an amazing job!

Andi can be a little difficult to photograph, but Synthia captured some beautiful moments. She even made and laugh, which can sometimes be impossible. The whole process was easy and stress-free. Synthia set me up with a local makeup artist to go to before our shoot, which took about an hour, and then we met her at a grassy location to take our pictures. We were done in about 30 minutes.

She edited the photos within a few weeks. There were a lot of great ones to choose from, but these were my favorites. I love how natural and timeless her work is. Click here to see her gallery. If you are in the Bay Area, I highly recommend Synthia for your family photos!

My Latest Summer OOTD

Happy Sunday! We have been busy getting ready for the 4th of July, but I wanted to make a quick summer OOTD post for you! I found my top on sale at Madewell and it also comes in black!

Whenever I can, I always make sure to at least try on flowy and feminine tops like this. To me, something is really worth buying if it can be styled in different ways and throughout the year! With this top, all those boxes are checked since it looks great tucked into a skirt, with white jeans, or layered underneath warmer clothes.

Midi skirts that have front-button details like this one are all the rage this year. There’s a 60’s and 70’s trend going on right now and this type of detail fits right in with that vintage vibe everyone is loving.

I made sure all of the colors were complementary and definitely “summer” themed today! Chunky accessories and one of my favorite pairs of sunglasses topped off this easy look. Plus, these nude strappy heels are to die for and so comfy!

Roses Are Red…

Roses are red… and Rachel Parcell is adding more summer items to her site! I cannot wait to shop the entirety of her newest collection. Today, I am wearing an early release from the line. It is the Classic Skirt in Summer Rose. I loved my white one so much that I had to have a printed version – especially this beautiful rose print.

One thing that I always look out for when buying new pieces is the texture. A nice texture can make anything have a more elevated and sophisticated look. And, although I adore Rachel Parcell, this skirt does run extremely small, so I’d suggest sizing up AT LEAST one size.

This classic midi skirt went perfectly with some on-trend black strappy heels that have a vintage feel to them. As always, Stuart Weitzman (in my opinion, at least) has mastered a beautiful heel that’s comfortable to walk in!

Red, White, and Black?

Hi there! With the 4th of July approaching, I have been subconsciously buying a lot more red than I usually do, so today’s outfit is going to follow that trend! To get into the holiday spirit, I created a classic red, white, and black combo to pay homage to the upcoming holiday.

I found this skirt from Roolee for under $30. Of course, it has pockets! It is cotton and spandex, so it’s nice and soft with a little stretch to it.

There are tons of options when it comes to creating cute outfits leading up to a holiday, and you don’t always have to stick to a color theme completely! Hope you guys got some nice inspo and have a wonderful holiday!

Showing My Gingham Shirt Some Love

Happy Monday!!

I am wearing one of my favorite skirts again and I wanted to change things up a little bit. Today I have paired it with a fun front-tie gingham shirt that is currently 30% off with code GETSHOPPING, and strappy heels. You should also know that my sunglasses are only $22! I won’t go into detail about how excited I was to see that price, but we’ll just go with “very” excited for now! 😛

When you’re styling a full midi skirt like this one, it’s important to keep things fitted and fun on top to really emphasize your waist and add more to catch the eye. That’s why this gingham shirt was absolutely perfect, and I didn’t want to keep it sitting in my closet without getting some ootd action!

These nude strappy heels also seem to be all I’m reaching for nowadays. They’re beautiful and comfortable due to the security that so many straps add!

How do you style gingham shirts? I’ve been thinking of going classic with a pair of white jeans, my Neverfull, and flats next!

Light and Airy Summer Clothes: What I’m Loving

Hi everyone! Okay, so maybe Florida isn’t exactly known for having seasons, but it’s safe to say that we’re in the thick of summer right now and that airy summer clothes are a must.

We found a great spot downtown to take photos. Colorful and old brick buildings. To me, I think this spot was very reminiscent of Charleston. I was immediately drawn to this bright red door and this ootd, and I’m excited to share the other photos later this week!

I am a sucker for flowy tops and dresses, which pair perfectly with the heat we’re experiencing. This top is great with skinny jeans, leggings, and even shorts – experiment to find what works best for you! It comes in black and white and is on sale for under $23. I am wearing it with a pair of skinny stretch Hudson Jeans and Soludos Lace-Up Espadrilles. My earrings were under $35 and are dupes for the Oscar De La Renta pair!

Why I’m loving these summer clothes: This outfit just works on so many levels. If you think about summer style, there’s no way you can skim over espadrilles and stripes! So, matching your favorite pair of espadrilles with a flowing cream-colored top is a way to bring your outfit together and stay cool as the wind blowing through your top is a great way to beat the heat.

Make sure you add pops of color to such a classic outfit like I did with my favorite turquoise earrings and a wide hat can really be a high-end detail suitable for any summer outfit.

Our Memorial Day Outfits!

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday weekend. We sure did. It was absolutely beautiful! We decided to take Andi to the park in the early evening and, of course, share our Memorial Day outfits with you all.

Today was a big first because Daddy rode down the slide with Andi for the very first time. I have to admit, she wasn’t too sure about this whole sliding thing, so we moved on to the swings… which are her favorite!

There were some great sales over the holiday weekend. Almost everything Andi and I are wearing in our Memorial Day outfits are on sale right now! SCORE! I am OBSESSED with this new J.Crew midi sundress. I love all of the colors in it. I can pair it with so many different cardigans if necessary, which is another nice part to styling a midi sundress!

My heels are Stuart Weitzman. They are pretty high but, surprisingly, they’re really easy to walk in. It feels like I am walking on a much lower heel than it actually is, which is something I feel like Stuart Weitzman has mastered so that women can ejoy the height without having achy feet! My favorite outfit for the weekend? Andi’s little open back eyelet dress from Gap.

I also made sure to create some balance by matching these nude shoes with my J. Crew bucket bag to really bring the look together. It may sound like old-school advice, but matching your shoes and bag seems to add a little something extra to any outfit.

As I mentioned before, I am absolutely head over heels in love with Andi’s dress from the Gap. It’s a wonderful color combination for this holiday and it just suits her perfectly.

The eyelets that are detailing the skirt are an absolutely darling touch added to this dress as well – I almost wish it came in an adult size so that our Memorial Day outfits could match on this level of cuteness!

Simple and Chic Memorial Day 2016 Inspo.

Happy Memorial Day 2016 weekend! Today I am sharing this chic look that I wore to dinner last night as we revved up for a weekend of celebrations and remembrance. Right now, my top is available through the Nordstrom sale for under $28 and it also comes in 4 other colors! I love pairing a loose-fitting top with nice jeans I am wearing are currently one of my favorites. They are the perfect wash with just the right amount of stretch…and also on sale just in time for Memorial Day 2016!

Having a nice dinner out is an occasion I cherish, especially when it’s just the hubby and I getting to unwind and enjoy ourselves. Though I was tempted to reach for a dress or midi skirt this time around, I instead went for this casual-chic look with ever-popular single strap heels!

Because these jeans are fitted near the ankle, and the heels have their own straps, I believe that your legs are going to look elongated – especially when paired with a flowing top and small feminine accessories.

Monday OOTD: Summer Hues

Hi everyone!

Just a quick little post today to show off my Monday OOTD! We’re getting pretty deep into summer this time of year and it gets hot in my area. However, I usually try to maintain my usual style and just opt for lighter fabrics and lighter colors to stay cool.

For this look, I paired a beautiful midi skirt with a blue gingham top to balance out the formal look of the pleats in this skirt. For a pop of color, I reached for my pink heels!

This season is shaping up to be all about the cut-outs and tassles, so I wanted to spend a little bit of this Monday OOTD appreciating the beauty of this pair!

Andi is turning out to be such a wonderful little fashionista and she was absolutely glowing in this pleated yellow dress with a keyhole back!

The Peplum Skirt

I am aboslutely loving last blogthe yellow and white color combination I tried out in my . I can’t get enough of Rachel Parcell’s new clothing line! This skirt is beautiful! I love the modest length and the peplum detail. Even though I love Rachel Parcell, I have to admit the sizing is a little weird. If you want to get this skirt for yourself, I reccomend sizing up as it runs extremely small.

Peplum skirts are brilliant for their ability to add feminine allure and a flattering shape to any outfit. The peplum emphasizes your waist, emphasizes curves, and can also cover any areas you’re not 100% happy with!

So how do you style a peplum skirt? The answer is simple: any way you want. Really!

Many people prefer fitted tops when they wear a peplum skirt, and that combo can do wonders for emphasizing your figure and keeping your clothing balanced. But wearing a looser fitting top or sweater can also work with your peplum skirt, as long as you make sure part of it (preferably all of it) is tucked into the skirt!

What do you guys think? I’m all about this waist-emphasizing style!
